As Director of Business Development, your mission is to develop and drive new business opportunities that have surfaced through the convergence of telecommunications, Internet and multimedia industries. You'll work closely with our VP in identifying viable convergence trends that meet our strategic goals, and leverage your industry contacts to strike and execute deals as you build solid business cases for commercial adoption in the US.

Our Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • 7+ years of strategy development and/or financial analysis background; the ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of strategy consulting and/or finance experience at a top tier management consulting firm or investment bank
  • Familiarity with portfolio management, product management/development & application development
  • Extensive knowledge of the MNO, mobile handset and other adjacent industries and specific understanding of various regional/operator standards and technologies
  • In-depth technical knowledge, particularly related to hardware, software architecture and application development
  • Ability to construct analysis to support strategic decisions
  • Ability to leverage knowledge and resources in other organizations to perform required analyses
  • A strong presence and local economy participant with robust networking connections with senior management in related industries
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically with a proven track record in aligning and driving deals to successful completion
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational influence skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Flexible mind set to adapt to a constantly changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to travel (mostly national) about 30% of the time
  • MBA degree and Korean language proficiency are pluses but not requirements

More About Your Role

Much of your role will be defined once you are on board and we can assess the unique skill set and experiences you possess. You will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Business Development, interacting heavily with our senior executive team and also with our Corporate Headquarters in Korea.

Initially, your core areas of focus will include:
  1. Leveraging your industry knowledge and contacts to analyze development trends in the convergence arena and cultivate large inflow of inorganic growth opportunities.
  2. Conducting necessary analyses for evaluating the opportunities, including value-added partnerships and/or investment opportunities with significant players via majority-stake or strategic minority-stake.
  3. Supporting senior leadership team in decision-making process and ensuring timely execution of deals
