In this newly created position, you will drive a high profile and ambitious global greenfield initiative to make SK Telecom Americas (SKTA) a premier player in the cloud computing space within five years. We have created a team of subject matter experts in telecommunications, market research, business incubation, and corporate development; add to that mix your expertise in the IT enterprise industry and technology, and you'll be in on the ground floor of what we expect to be a major growth engine for our organization -- one of the most innovative telecom companies in the world.

Your mission in this indiviual contributor role will be to help the Cloud Computing team refine and focus the strategy for this initiative, from infrastructure to enterprise solutions to consumer products, and then execute on it, including strategic partnerships, value-enhancing innovation, and global investments. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have significant enterprise IT industry experience, including five to seven years in a business or corporate development role as well as two to three years in a technology and/or marketing role (this is not a sales-oriented position). You also will need a broad, current and relevant industry network and the ability to get to the right people quickly.

SK Telecom is the vanguard in the convergence of digital and mobile innovation not only in Korea but globally. What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you'll need:

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
• Solid practical knowledge of cloud computing technologies as well as the key players in this area and a proven track record in aligning multiple stakeholders and driving deals to successful completion.
• A demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically.
• The ability to construct analysis to support strategic decisions, including leveraging knowledge and resources in other organizations in support of analyses.
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational influence skills.
• The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, as well as to work both independently and in a team environment.
• A flexible mindset and the ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred but not required:

• An MBA.
• Bilingual English and Korean skills.

You also will need to be able to travel, primarily domestically but also internationally, about 30% of the time.

More About Your Role

Working closely with the Vice Presidents of Business Development and of Corporate Development, you will become a member of our Cloud Computing team and play a key role in our recently launched efforts to develop global solution and service plans to leverage our telecom expertise in the cloud computing space. We have the high level objectives and you'll provide the final piece: the cloud computing/managed hosting industry knowledge and savvy.

While this role will continue to evolve over time, your activities will fall into three key areas:

• Refining our strategy, including acquiring a deep and clear understanding of the landscape and trends, evaluating opportunities and technologies, and targeting optimum markets and potential partners.
• Executing that strategy, taking advantage of your robust network to get in front of the key players to present well-researched business plans and proposals.
• Building the business and developing the deals, including value-added partnerships, investment opportunities and more.
